A short and inspiring moral story for children about kindness and how even the smallest can help the mightiest.
Once upon a time, in a big green forest, there lived a mighty lion. One afternoon, after eating his meal, the lion decided to take a nap under a shady tree.
As he slept, a little mouse ran across his huge paw. The lion woke up angrily and caught the mouse with his strong claws.
“Who dares to disturb my sleep?” roared the lion.
“Please forgive me, O King of the Jungle!” squeaked the little mouse. “I didn’t mean to wake you up. If you let me go, I will surely help you one day.”
The lion laughed. “You? Help me? You are so small!” But feeling kind, he opened his paw and let the mouse go.
A few days later, hunters came to the forest and trapped the lion in a strong net. The lion roared loudly for help. Hearing his cries, the little mouse ran to him quickly.
“Don’t worry, my friend! I will help you!” said the mouse. He began to gnaw the ropes with his sharp teeth until the lion was free again.
The lion smiled gratefully and said, “I was wrong to think you were too small to help me. You saved my life, little friend.”
